Myth: Research Proposal & Plan

Research Proposal

The cultural significance language is loaded with fascinates me. Bad language holds my interest for its impact on social relationship. Universally, sex-related dirty words in different cultures have considerable similarities, but for Chinese profanities, there are specific causes of formation beneath, which is seemingly a myth. Why do Chinese view certain kinds of expression as offense and insult? Could it be associated with Chinese social perception of sex and relationship? Research shows sexual repression, gender discrimination, and ethical conformity contribute to the formation of Chinese dirty words. In order to demonstrate the idea with substantial supportive materials, my possible references would be “Review of Chinese Sex Attitudes & Applicability of Sex Therapy for Chinese Couples with Sexual Dysfunction,” “Sex in Chinese Civilization,” “Prenatal Sex Selection and Missing Girls in China,” “A Socio-Historical Framework for The Study of Women and Sport in China,” “Female Rituals and Female Priestly Roles in Traditional Chinese Religion,” “The History and Spirit of Chinese Ethics,” “Book Reviews: The Chinese Kinship System,” etc.
