Visual Experiment II
Narrowing my focus to the influence of Chinese family system on the formation and dissemination of sex-related dirty words, I shot a short film as another visual experiment. In this video, the character is doing three types of housework in sequence: sorting the trash, mopping the floor, and making the bed. These three activities connotes different sexual positions. Making use of the idea of domination indicated by sex, this film conveys the message that gender division in Chinese family system gives females low status and vulnerability, which provokes individuals deep thought about Cao Ni Ma Bi (lit. have sex with your mother).

Add audio to clarify the activities of doing housework
Separate different activities
Adjust light when shooting
Introduce the idea of loop to the film to indicate the idea of lasting domestic abuse
Final
The final film is created based on the suggestions of improvement and the idea of “domestic prison.” Basically, the idea is the same as the visual experiment II. Black bars among different scenarios comprise “the domestic prison”, which represents the nature of decoration and a means of procreation of females in the male-domination society.
