Space/Materiality – Form Wheel Homework

Form Wheel Response Sculpture

Below is my three dimensional sculptural response to the Form wheel reading. It accomplishes complexity, scale, texture, and weight through the use of wire, cardboard, and thread to construct a symmetrical abstract object. The contrasting materials used to develop form were manipulated through monolith design and expansion with wire and thread. The sculpture stands at twelve inches in all directions and is sturdy enough to balance its weight on its own. Mechanical joints include wire bailing and sewing.
