My chosen object is a guitar. I am focusing on the hidden production narratives of day-to-day objects. This piece is covers a jukebox company and how it both glorifies its products while also destroying to harm the environment. On the right is the actual product glorified in gold while the ad on the left is the company boasting about how it destroys its products to increase the value of ownership.
The critique gave good suggestions especially on the usage of gold and how I should use it with more intention. I also have to work on curating with this type of material. In the future I will probably plan out my steps more carefully and precisely. It was also helpful to get a 3rd person opinion on my work. My plan for the next 3 diptychs is to experiment with usage of camouflage and gold leaves. I will work on improving the way I use it and will particularly focus on it being clean cut.
