Plateosaurus Trossingensis – Line Drawing

Plateosaurus Trossingensis – Line Drawing

Reflection – Line Drawing

On September 3rd, We went to The Museum of Natural History. We were given two assignments: Draw a Blind Contour Drawing of a dinosaur, and Draw a Line Drawing of the dinosaur.

I decided to draw the skeleton of a Plateosaurus Trossingensis. I sat at an angle from the skeleton, so I was closer to the tail than to the head.

It was the first time for me experiencing a Blind contour drawing. I liked the effect it had on the way I hold my pencil close to the bristol. I was very tempted to look down at my drawing, and that made me realise that I usually pay way more attention to my drawing than to the object itself.

The line Drawing for me was harder. I had difficulties drawing from perspective and in right proportions. I’ve chosen to draw the details I see between the skeleton and myself, such as the signs and light fixtures, which I found more attractive to draw than the skeleton itself.

I would like to acquire more techniques in pencil line drawing and in proportions.
