Color Figure Exercise

For my Expressive Figure Painting, I tried to use color, line and composition in order to create a cold and estranged feeling.

I believe that the final draft of the painting (Featured image) manages to communicate the senses of remoteness, solitude and alienation.

Although Mustard (or flax) is perceived as a warm color, I chose it rather than an obvious colder color, to project hope to the otherwise cold image.

I decided not to add value to the objects in the background in order to make them flat looking and inconspicuous. This way, the focus will be on the painted figure.
