Shifted Animal

The assignment was to make a shifted animal by deconstructing a stuffed animal. I bought a stuffed teddybear and cut it carefully into pieces. Every piece That I’ve cut from the teddybear was traced on paper to create a rough model of the shifted animal. To make my final design I used fabric, colorful strings and pompons.

I called my shifted animal Tearex; The Last Dinosaur On Earth. After loosing his family and his entire specie some 65.5 million years ago,  Tearex decided to join the circus in order to give joy to people around him and to educate them about dinosaurs and their friendly nature. He still has a teardrop hanging from his right eye, as a reminder of the family he has lost.

Our Studio’s final project was to create a circus, where all of our shifted animals will perform their tricks. I designed a poster for Tearex’s show, inspired by vintage posters.

Here is another poster I’ve designed for Max’s stuffed monkey.

Now I’m working on Iverson’s squid poster and I hope to design more posters before our final presentation.
