One of the most interesting things that I learned during my visit to the East Village was how much can be said about a person from the types of clothing that they choose to wear. For example, the most reoccurring aspect that I noticed about the clothing worn in the East Village is how clothing was able to display the amount of wealth found within a certain area. The East Village is an expensive place to live in the city, therefore many of the residents that live in the East Village are wealthy and choose to wear designer clothing that represents that wealthy statues. Although the clothing that many of the residents wore is designer, their clothing choice is very subtle and is not at all flashy or flamboyant. The fact that the residents of the East Village choose to wear clothing that is isn’t considered “loud” says that despite the vast amount of wealth found in the area, the residents are quite humble and choose not to display their economic status to the public. The final aspect that I discovered about the East Village is that vast majority of residents are current with the latest fashion trends and quickly adapt to the latest fashion styles.
