First semester, I was assigned a research paper in which I was tasked to research an artistic community and what kinds of hardships they had to endure. Combining my interest in comics and love for my Jewish heritage, I decided to research how the Jewish community created certain super heroes in the 1940s to help voice their opinions on anti-semitism. One of the most difficult aspects of this project was trying to find a scholarly resource for the paper. If I were to do this paper differently, I would extend my research into other communities/time periods and see if they used comics to voice their opinions as well.
