Subject: The Highline
Zine Story: A walkthrough of the Highline throughout time. Starting in the mid 1930s when it was first built as a railroad, and ending to today where it is a popular tourist attraction.
Observations/Research:
- Was amongst the city’s first railroads
- Was vital to getting goods in and out of the city
- Opened in the 1930s
- After the railroads functionality was shutdown, it became a tourist attraction
- The attraction itself was built in 2009
- Today, it is a showcase for the art of the city and its people
- The place itself suffers from a lot of commercialization, especially during the daytime
