Florida is drowning. Condos are still being built. Can’t humans see the writing on the wall?
My Reflection
When I was younger, I would hear people talk about how certain states might sink to the ocean in the future and my young mind would think about Atlantis and wouldn’t take those conversations seriously. However, as time passed, I started hearing these conversations more and more and at that point with all of the natural disasters that happened my attitude towards the conversations changed. A conversation I thought was a fun idea in my head when I was younger became a grim reality that I can’t help but fear. It’s interesting how as humans we’re so prone to denial and don’t want to face the facts and even worse is our resistance to change. With a combination of these qualities, it makes any type of progress difficult to happen but it’s not impossible because there are many who are able to do it. I hope that more people will wake up soon and at least realize how bad the situation is.
