Fighting pollution: Toledo residents want personhood status for Lake Erie
My Reflection
I feel like this town is setting a great example. We should be taking responsibility of our natural resources and taking action in order to protect these vulnerable assets. We take advantage of what we have right now but what will we do when everything either polluted or gone? Nature doesn’t have a voice or have any way to protect itself from any types of abuse. That’s why, as people who take advantage of it, we must take care of it and stand up and fight against anyone who threatens its wellbeing. Of course, in this lake’s case there are complications with how big it is and how many states it borders but I feel like this lawsuit is a great place to start. Nature should have the same rights we have and we should be respecting it as much as we respect the people around us.
