When I think of archives, I always think of museums and basically objects I’m not allowed to touch. However, after our trip to the archive room in the school I realized that that’s not it at all. Archives are anything that have been collected overtime that contain information. They don’t have to be historic or “important” to be considered archives, I myself own probably own plenty of archival stuff. I just never thought about them in that context. To me, they’re just stuff that take up space in my room. This is what makes archives so intriguing me though. It’s the fact that these documents were once just everyday items that someone touched and lived with but later on they become things to study and observe which lead me to imagine the type of person who once owned them.
