Final Project; Residency

Residency

The theme of this gallery is to incorporate art with crafts with the feeling of home. Each exhibition that comes through will have the opportunity to give the members of the community space where they can create their own art. Each member will also be able to put their piece into the exhibition next to the main artists’ installation.

The idea is to let all artists have the chance to have their art in a professional gallery. While also enjoying the pieces of other local artists. The art-making space within the gallery was designed to be viewed from outside the main gallery area or within the gallery zone.

The Red Room (Ft. Paul)

The Red Room was designed after a small red cat and the idea of play. Paul, the cat, was enlarged using red yarn balls, these of which are seen around the gallery space. When one enters the gallery at the front door, they are greeted with a single yarn ball and shown the path to Paul using more spheres. Until stopped at a red mesh curtain, which is the gateway welcome to The Red Room.

Push aside the red curtains and enter into a red fabricated room. Walk around and make the fabric feel your presence. Each step dipping into the redness. You have entered the Red Room.
