for our sustainable system final project, we were grouped according to the objects we wanted to make. I wanted to make something out of plastic, therefore I was grouped with some other people from my class who were also going to make things out of plastic. Our project is to make plastic usable again and make a photo booth on the day of the eco community event. Some of my group members decided to make tote bag, rain coat, accessories, etc, and one girl was assigned to make the back drop that introduces ways to be sustainable. I decided to make a small coin bag from plastic bags. I cut the bags into strings and knitted them using used Chinese delivery chopsticks. The process was hard but still enjoyable. Seeing the outcome of our project put together, it really showed me how even though individually the effort seems small, but together we can make changes happen. It also showed me how something toxic like plastic can be reused and turn into useful daily objects.
