Bridge 5: Reflection

Before attending this class, I had never studied writing and creative writing in great detail, therefor, I would say that I wasn’t a very experience member of the class. Due to being inexperienced in writing, I felt as though I struggled to compete with the more experienced writers in the class, as there were plenty of them. The work that was done in class, such as, the “I am for an art” sentences, was something I had to get used to, as I wasn’t very familiar with such approaches to creative writing. However, I am capable of producing good pieces of writing, but it takes a considerable amount of time for me to write, which was the worry I had at the beginning of the semester.

Looking back and comparing my work from the start and end of the semester, there has definitely been improvement, especially, when I wrote the Bridge 4 Reconstruction of a Fairytale assignment. I felt as though I struggled with the first draft, nonetheless, I was able to produce one of my best pieces of writing this semester, due to the due-date being postponed, which gave me more time to write this story.

Group discussion were always helpful and relaxing compared to other hectic classes, and would also provoke interesting topics within current politics and the world around us.

Personally, I need to continue writing and practicing to increase my capabilities, as good things come to those who practice.

My major is Communication Design, and this class has definitely enlightened me about numerous ways of approaching writing and short sentences, which will no doubt be extremely helpful in art and design.
