I remember how hard it was for me to leave everything behind and start over in a new country; the culture was unfamiliar to me and I had to speak a foreign language outside of my house. However, after some time has passed, I adjusted to all of the changes and that is what my piece is about.
First thing you notice when you look at my piece is that it looks like globe (which represents my inner world) with 2 unproportionally large countries: Russia and United States of America. Each country’s surface is filled with pictures that represent aspects of cultures I like and also things/people I associate with a particular country.
When you open the globe you can see the countries spilling inside and a barely visible stick figure, which represents my inner self, pulling two countries inside, therefore connecting them.
