Sensing The Past

Smell was always something I instantly notice when I go outside of my room or even open a window. With this video and my seminar paper I want to show the difference in smell between my hometown (McLean, VA) and New York by describing the morning smell in both cities. When I used to open my window, the fresh smell of trees, grass and nature in general would rush through the small opening, filling the whole area with invigorative aroma. It was one of the few things I was looking forward every school morning. So I decided to compare it to the smell in the city, to which I wake up now. It is mostly filled with exhaust gases from cars and the distinct notes of trashbags left out on the street.
