The first part that I did was my self portrait, and it was hard to draw because I never drew myself. Also, when I tried to draw portrait of me, it was so different to my real face. However, I am glad that I completed my self portrait.
For the second part of project two, I chose California, and my dorm room. When I immigrated to America with my family, we lived in California, and lived there for five years. California is very important place in my life because I spend my youth, and it is my second hometown. Now, in New York, I spend most of my time in a dorm, that is why I chose my dorm room. The self portrait succeed in conveying my idea which is loneliness. I used black and white for dorm room to represent my lonely feeling in New York city. Also, I used color for California to represent good memories with family.
Lastly, for part three I drew the part two work with watercolor and pen. I used those materials because it matches to my emotion, which is loneliness.
