Half-Scale 3-piece Ensemble
Written Proposal
Hat will help ensamble to be chic because the design of a hat will cover the eye, and the shade of a hat will be short. This hat design is remind me of Coco Chanel’s signiture hat. The edge part of a hat has stripe to match the top of ensamble. For the color, I would like to use dark denim fabric.
The top for the ensamble has puffy and unique sleeve design, but on the middle it is simple. When I added a part to the top, the sleeve less top became speical long-sleeved top. Also, it gives sexy feeling because of cuts on belly and upper breast.
Skirt has sexy mermaid line with detail on the edge part. This skirt gives sexy, but chic feelings because of line and color. The color that I want to use is dark blue or dark denim fabric.
Two Photographs
The images that I chose inspired me with the design and mood of the time period. In the past, many dresses had turtleneck, and puffy arm details to make them fancy. For the top, I consult from this picture, and it connects to top part of my garment design. For the bottom, I refer from 1950s skirt because I wanted to emphasize women’s body line. The colors from two images are very vintage and pastel, so I want to use those colors for my final emsanble. For final project, I will embedding photogrphic images into fabric, and some patterns. I will not use all shapes or designs of photos, I would like to take some parts of them to harmonize.
I would definitely like to use pastel and vintage fabics, and laces. To decorate three piece garment, I might like to use peals or fake jewerlies. I plan to spend less than 40 to 50 dollars for materials, if it is not possible I will use more, but if it is less than 30, it would be great for my buget plan.
