Project 2: Egg series

Project 2

Material Samples

For my two material samples, I used all of the techinques I experiment. This step helped me to make stable egg before I make the final egg.

Material Eggs

My two material eggs made with rubber band and foil. For both of them, I used wire to connect or make an egg shape. The rubber band egg was very challenging because it has no stable shape, so I had to use wire to make it stable. However, I like the final work because I thought I would fail, but I was happy that I got an egg shape. Before I chose foil, I chose staws but it was very hard for me, so I changed it to foil. For the foil egg, it was easy to make, but it was time consuming.

3D Egg

To print 3D egg, our class used Rhino program. We learned how to make an egg shape and to design our own egg, we made a pattern with Rhino. Before we learn how to design our own egg, the whole class explored with Rhino because it was our first time learning the program.

How-To

The how-to drawing has steps and materials that I used when I made two eggs. I made how-to drawing with illustration program, and after I finished it I hoped that I had more descriptions about how to make my eggs.

Egg Crate

For the final part, I made egg crate to desplay my three eggs that made out of wood. To make a crate, I had to measure the wood and cut out three parts to desplay eggs. The measurement and cutting the wood were very hard, but it was very interesting because I never made an artwork except for the hand that I did in last project.
