Audacity- Site sound map

I put some photos I took on the site in a sound editing app called Audacity. It can transfer image into an audio file, and by messing around with the sound effects, you are able to change the image outcome too when you export. However, not every image or effects would work so it really needs experimentation and you sort of cant predict the outcome either. My friend introduced me to this fun practice, and I just thought it would be interesting to able to see what kind of audio pattern would appear of the photos I took at the site where the performance would happen. Maybe the sound wave could be a visual route the puppet’s movement.

Material

This week, I have decided on the materials, I built the patch of the creatures body/wing part with fabric wrap with transparent wire to make the shape and have the ability to bend in flexible directions. I then covered the top part with pieces of folded paper to create a bulky, but still can move in a soft, organic form. It actually took me quite a long time to assemble them together, definitely longer then I thought because I have to be aware of the different layers and how to layer them equally when the form is bended. In addition, to achieve a raw, exposed visual, I bend the woven wire into thin lines and covered it with paper pulp. Theres also a picture of the mess I made in my living space.
