After reading about how different materials serve different purposes, I wanted to build a structure out of something I’ve never worked with before. I took to the streets of nyc to look through the piles of garbage in order to find my materials. The cleanest medium I found was cardboard bags and boxes. I have used cardboard to paint on, but never to build with. After reading about architecture and how different materials work together, I decided to use this cardboard to build an apartment building -much like the one I found my materials in front of. I used a linoleum print to make windows, gates, and a door for my building. Then I added details on the roof to complete my piece.
