My Zine was created to emphasize how I interact with technology. I wanted the structure of my zine to send a message all on its own. This is the reason why my book could stand up on its own when opened. The reason for my book to stand was to represent a physical platform  that could be in contrast with the social media platform in addition to the phone itself being a platform. I made it so that the pages could be removed and inserted in all different sections of the zine; this was to emphasize the active mind inputting and receiving various kinds of information through the phone. I chose to focus the information in my book about my best friend. My friend’s name is Jake and he currently lives in Rhode Island. I have lived overseas and am now in New York; most of our relationship post high school has been digital. This concept of a real  relationship converting to a digital one is fascinating to me. It poses a question that I still can’t answer myself which is “ is a relationship less real over the phone?” And if it is, how do I still allow it to occupy fifteen percent of my real time?
