Caplan presented a wide breadth of information of how in our heavy technology-driven culture peoples public and private information is used and abused. However like many of the fellow students I struggled to understand her sole intention with her presentation. She failed to provide a takeaway point from all the information presented on how one should move forward. Now that we are aware of how the government, agencies, and corporations neglect our privacy and data to a great degree. If she provided steps for students on how to protect their privacy and control how their data is used online after the main portion of the presentation was complete, I would be empowered. Instead, I left fearful and ignorant on what my role should be going foward.
