My final project will look into the rise of social media and how it’s changed our world. The way we network and communicate and how we’ve become more narcissistic are at the core of my project. I will have three mirrors with questions/phrases laser cut into them, the viewer is welcome to take a photo of themselves in the mirror and post it with a hashtag. All the photos will show up on a website that anyone can access. It would need to be places somewhere with a lot of foot traffic. some questions I’m looking to are “How does social media change the way you look at yourself”, “Where is most of your real self? Online or in-person?” and “What line can be drawn between narcissism and simple loving yourself?”.

For next week I want to of created the CAD files and collected some of the materials.

Summed up in two sentences: An interactive piece where people can take pictures of themselves or ‘selfies’ in the mirrors and post it to instagram with a hashtag. A website
will compile all the images tagged to see how people interacted with the space themselves.
