Carrie Mae Weems is an American artist who is best known for her work in photography. In the Lenny interview focus is on her series of ‘The Kitchen Table’. Speech is quite informal with the use of some swearwords but tis is giving an intimate feeling to how Mae Weems feels. She is talking about woman of color and their works of art, especially in photography. She tells how she presents the structure of family, the structure of relationships from a view of a black woman but it is universal, it is same for every human being. In my opinion she has a strong voice in her work and she is a leader for all of us. Her work makes us think. What she tells in her interview makes us think even further. With her hard work and many others, I believe that equal days for everyone are near.
