Sound and Vision Sonic Portrait

The space that originally inspired this project was a shower. I planned to use a male vocal and sound of water falling as the base of my audio, and add bottle openings and curtain swipes as details. As the project went many more details were added.

In order to make a visual to this final sound, I had to take a video related to the sound of the male vocal and water falling. I relieved the powerful melancholy behind this sound and decided to represent the emotion the place gives in my video. I filmed a origami paper boat first in my hand as if it was flying, than on the water slowly sinking and on the final scene flying back again. My aim was to show how we can get caught to our feelings sometimes and feel drowning but they eventually pass. I believe that while taking showers, we think about many things and it is easy to remember our feeling. The final product was not as smooth as I wanted it to be but I can still say that it has a strong meaning.
