Reflection On My Union Square Experience

Union Square is the park that I pass trough every single day, yet I have never consciously observed this place before today. I have never realized the buildings surrounding it, massive triangle lighted roofs on one side and empire state to the other. I have never realized how many cop cars there were and never asked my self why. It should be more dangerous than a regular park I guess. New York is already popular for its shining lights but when you are in the park it is a little different. Lights are on the yellow leafs instead of the buildings. The yellow leafs which can be heard from the ground with a little help of wind. I have never stared at these leaves this long before and I can not describe their simple beauty. Further more I have never felt the nostalgia before. I believe that this comes from the emptiness. Some dog owners are here just because they had to. There is no one sitting on the stairs and very few skaters in front of the stairs. People must have left the park with the warm summer weather. It reminds me of the old colorful days I spent there but now it is on a hibernation.
