This is a tableau vivant of Van Gogh’s painting, the Portrait of Joseph Roulin. Our group changed the portrait into video, but we still wanted to keep the feeling of Van Gogh’s painting. So our group bought the hat and the coat from a thrift store and I painted on them. To give more painterly textures, first I put gesso on it so it created the surface for paintings. I used strong brushstrokes to look like Van Gogh’s painting. In this video, we changed Joseph Roulin to a serial killer to give a twist to the story. Also our group bought actual flowers and threw them to give more feeling of movement.
