Today, adolescents are the most prolific users of various social networks such as Facebook and Instagram. They spend a considerable part of their time communicating with their friends through social network sites, and it has a significant impact on the development of their personalities. June Ahn analyzed the effect of interacting through social media on the academic and social development of students and included numerous theories in her analysis. Therefore, Ahn’s article can be considered as an important source in studying the correlation between the psychological well-being of teenagers and their use of social networks.

Today, we live in an era of online spaces that play the role of a social medium that school and college students use for interaction and communication. At the same time, it should be noted that using this social medium raises many questions about acceptable behavior, social propriety, and ethical decisions that students make when interacting with others online. Thus, policy makers and college administrators have to pay great attention to many questions, and in her book, Ana Aleman has provided a great guidance for administrators and policy makers, and this book focused on many problems related to using social networking sites.

There are various social media factors that influence the development of adolescents’ personalities. Sultan Alzahrani and Christian Bach have conducted a qualitative study aimed at examining the effect of social networks on personality development, and authors also collected a lot of information from different books and articles. Their article is a great source of information about the ways how negative effects of social media on personality development of teenagers can be minimized with the help of various intervention and educational plans.

There are numerous social factors that influence our views and positions, and as we spend a considerable portion of time per day communicating with others online, the number of such social factors has significantly increased. Nicholas Christakis and James Fowler have researched these factors and determined that development of one’s personality can be influenced by such factors as tastes and beliefs of other people, their weight, wealth, health, etc. This book provides important information about social phenomena that impact the development of one’s personality, and this book also explains the role of social networks in the process of personality development.

There are more than 1 billion people who use Facebook for communication and interaction, and Facebook has become an important social phenomenon that has a significant impact on our lives. Recent studies presented in the journal article prove that use of Facebook and other social networks can have a considerable influence on the well-being of people, and more than that, it may have a heavy impact on stress, anxiety, and emotional state of adolescents. This article is an important source of information about the correlation between the time spent on Facebook with the increase of anxiety and depression.

This source proves that social networks play a very important role in the lives of teenagers, and Antonia Molloy in her article described a situation in which a teenager tried to commit suicide when he failed to take a good selfie for his profile picture on Facebook. This article can be used to demonstrate negative effects of using social media and its potential negative impact on the lives and personality development of adolescents.
