Bridge 3 Part 1

Topic: Bringing Awareness To Self Confidence Issues Through Mediums of Art and Interview

Project Proposed:

  • Book sharing different stories
  • Installation piece pushing for audience to take a look at their own stories battling with self confidence

KEY WORDS

  • Metamorphosis – inspire a transformation from self hate to self love
  • Awareness – bring to the spotlight a very prevalent problem amongst many
  • Change – inspire others to know their own stories through learning other people’s stories

QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT

  • Is struggling with self confidence a mental health disorder?
    • Although not fully categorized as a mental health disorder, low self esteem is often associated with or  leads to mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, and eating disorder
  • Does anyone ever fully recover from self confidence issues?
    • Once the root of where the issues originate from is identified, it is easy to better understand and deal with.. But often, until the problem completely changes, it will always be a battle

RESEARCH

  • The Rice Experiment
    • Just like rice, the human body is composed of 60-70% of water
    • You seperate rice into two containers with positive words on one and negative on the other
    • The one with positive words on it will stay true to rice’s natural color and form, but the one with negative words on it will get dark, moldy, and old
    • This experiment proves how because of our molecular structure of water, positive and negative words can physically and mentally affect our bodies and human consciousness
