Reflection:
The gap between the male and female part is quite large, which may due to 1)chiseled down too much wood on the line when the goal is just to smooth the surface 2)the band saw went into the wood exactly on the line so it took down some wood as well 3) when using the handsaw to saw the wood, the line cut was not exactly straight.
And really mark the area that needed to be cut off (or should leave) because I made a wrong cut and had to redo it again.
