I have decided to take the words cube, expand, and perforate to respond to the “Form Wheel” reading. The way that I interpreted these three words was by creating two cubes that would sit on top of each other at eight inches, and perforate the chip board they were created out of in order to expand this- by creating wire handles that expand this cube at the top. Being highly interested in product design, I wanted to model a very simple structural hand bag by using three words in a minimal way to create a functional sculpture. I would say that I took on a more literal meaning of the cube, being that it is a simplistic design for a sculpture and can show everything it needs by just the six surfaces that it touches upon. I left it in the color of its original materials because I wanted it to be open for interpretation- if this was a sample what materials and colors could this purse be made of- or more importantly- what materials could be used in order to create this structural sculpture?
