Studio/Seminar 3D – Project #1 3D Visual

For the first 3D project, I decided to create kaftan garments inspired form the Ottoman Empire.

I spent a lot of time at home in Istanbul this summer and had the opportunity to go the the historic museums for the first time. My inspiration comes from the Topkapi Palace of the 15th Century. Topkapi palace was known as the headquarters of the Ottoman Empire, where the sultans lived and ruled.

To make the kaftan garments interactive, I applied zippers on the back of the objects that could be unzipped to see an imitation of Byzantine mosaics of tulips, significant to the region’s history.
