More Than a Hashtag

            When the world is changing in front of your eyes. There are many different emotions that are running throw one person’s body. People have shared their emotions in all different types of forms. When living in one of the fastest paste cities and to see it come to a stop. It opens your eyes to different things that you would not have noticed before. My roommate has a tote bag that says “BLACK LIVES MATTER (more than a hashtag).” I have seen her carrying that bag all the time but never have seen the quote that was on the back till recently. When reading the quote, I had to think about it for a minute. I had to think what that meant for the person that was reading the bag and the person that was carrying the bag. What was the quote trying to address? My roommate is a black woman that is carrying that bag. I know what she carries it with pride when she walks down the streets of NYC. The message that is address on the bag is, black lives is not just a trend that comes and goes. That people have to do something to make a different not just by putting a hashtag in after ounces’ post. I feel that the quote if very effective when on a bag because when my roommate is carrying her bag she is spreading the news everywhere she goes. This a creative why to spread the word on something that she believes in.
