“Smile” Space 11/19

My approach to this project has been very process-based. Instead of setting a singular outcome in mind, my main goal so far has been to experiment with different materials and ideas and see what resonates the most. I started by brainstorming a few different ideas in my sketchbook about how to show my experience with teeth/TMJ. From there I decided to take a look at K7 data and see if I could do anything with sound, I also started making casts of my teeth. After taking two casts of my teeth I noticed one of the casts turned out a lot worse than the other because the dental putty I used set way faster than I thought it would. From here so I tried to make more “successful” casts however they kept coming out with varying imperfections. I am currently very interested in lining up the casts in a “timeline” showing a decline in quality.
