| Here are my first three individual concept sketches for the Bridge #4 monument redesign and my team’s vision board:
After visiting MoMA, the specific design choices I was inspired to play with were simple designs that are futuristic. I was also inspired by using unique and colorful media as a way to make the artwork daring and out of the box. These ideas were inspired by Kingelez’s ideas of the future and Brancusi’s simple sculptures. I first thought of making a monument that still resembles Father Duffy, but after visiting their artworks, my ideas shifted. I was later on inspired to create installations that were simple, yet futuristic and would really fit in the Times Square area. As seen in my later sketches, my ideas developed into something more simple yet get all the attention by being unique and having lights all over it.
