Sage’s Garden
The sage garden has a strong overall design and the plants are arranged aesthetically. There are wooden panels in the middle of the garden with a buddha statue beside it. It definitely seems supported by the community by looking at how neat the garden is. The special thing about this garden is how this garden is the most inviting one because it has lots of seating areas and is the most organized garden out of all the visited gardens. Besides the wooden panels in the middle, this garden does not have any raised beds for plants. The garden emphasizes small trees and bushes but there are no flowers in it.
There are no signs of pollinators and rodents but there are signs of birds and squirrels in the garden. This is a sign that the garden is probably the cleanest out of all the other gardens. This garden applies companion planting principles by planting certain plants near each other to support their growth. It has lots of jerry cans to collect rainwater, supporting the water system. This garden is near houses, schools, and playgrounds, therefore supporting the community around it. The people interviewed know about the garden but they don’t use it often since there is not a lot of seating area in the garden for people to gather. However, they think that this garden benefits their neighborhood and they agree that there should be more gardens like this in this fast-moving city.
