Reflection: John Zorn’s “Khebar”

Growing up with a law ordered dress code that exists in Iran was difficult for my mother who was very passionate about her appearance and how she was able to express herself to the world. Even with the restrictions, she always managed to show her personality and make her presence be known. As I witnessed my mother spend so much time in her attire, I understood the power of clothing, the power of this physical, non-verbal expression and I fell in love with clothing. I now create and design garments for people to do the same. I believe the first impression one gives and receives is in their attire foremost before they begin talking. As someone who trusts greatly in a first impression, therefore, attire is essential in every-day communication and life.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duOTEGOdVkE&feature=youtu.be
