During this trip to the fashion museum at FIT, I noticed that there were many pieces that incorporated the idea of re-purposing and reusing materials in order to create a garment. Different pieces and scraps from different materials were brought together to create something entirely new and functional.
In this skirt, different scraps of different fabrics were woven together to create this new garment. It still serves as a skirt so the re-purposing was very successful.
The idea of re-purposing old material to create something new and functional eliminates trash, generates creativity, and establishes style.
