Int. Studio: Outfit Exercise

I love the fact that fashion provides insight and an impression to those acknowledging it. For this class, I had on a very coordinated and modest outfit. I had on a girly, floral printed, and pink skirt with matching black sweater, scarf, shoes, and bag. With this outfit I was able to portray a very quaint and sophisticated persona, whether I actually embody those characteristics or not. However, I could have easily worn an uncoordinated, colorful, and flashy outfit as well and had received completely different impressions and opposite traits. I was able to completely make the audience believe in an avatar that I chose.

I have always believed that your attire is what provides a first impression to someone, even before a conversation. Your outfit is the first thing a stranger notices about you and therefore it says a lot. It is very convenient to pull off a facade for all different kinds of audiences and make each of them believe a different impression.

I agreed with most of how the class described me, mostly because I knew how that outfit would make me seem. I wore it the way I did for a reason and I was able to achieve what I wanted.
