A route that I take on a regular bases, a ten minute walk to Target leaves me mesmerized and surprised every time. On the left side of Stuy Residence, in just a ten minute walk you are introduced to a beautiful and popular park that regularly hosts community events, fancy shops, prestige offices, and The New School, known for its prestige. However, just a 10 minute walk to the right of the residence reveals a bit more truth of the realities of living in the city. Abandoned stores covered in graffiti and vandalizing stickers and marks make most of this route. Many homeless find and establish their little areas, most who are even loved by the police. The difference is absolutely remarkable but without a doubt the sense of community, culture, and tradition is more presented in the right side.
