(FAKE SEMINAR) Favorite selfie Assignment

(FAKE SEMINAR) Favorite selfie from the past                      Kristy Hyun

The day I took this selfie was three years ago. On this day I was with four of my best friends

walking on the sidewalks near the beach in downtown Vancouver, where my second home is. The weather was perfectly amazing. Not too dry or not too hot. The sunshine was shining on us perfectly and the wind coming through helped us to relax and enjoy our present moment. It was such an unusual day in Raincouver. What a gifted day it was. The weather helped our moments to be more memorable. Many people were enjoying their moments with their friends or their family. I believe all of my friends were also grateful of that moment and were enjoying our time there. We were the four girls who were waiting for different destiny and path for our future. We were best friends but we knew we could no more stick together. We knew that this day will never come again and we knew that we were going to be missing this moment so badly. We knew that the photos will be the only thing that would remain and that is why we try to capture our moments by taking a selfie. Whenever we were together, we tried to take a lot of selfies or pictures. In addition, my friends were the best moment capturers. We always helped each other to get the best photos that we could get. Because they knew my personality so well, they knew that I don’t usually smile a lot usually. According to this, all three of them were directing me to smile and find the best angle that I should take my selfies or photos. As a result, I could get the best selfie most of the times. To move on specifically, I picked this as my favorite selfie because I remember my smile was not fake then. Although my friends were directing me to smile, I was smiling because I was truly happy in that moment. Generally, people believe that the selfies tend to be more fake than real due to the fact that we cannot easily recognize our emotions, circumstances, or the story while looking at the selfie. It rather brings us to focus more on our outside appearances. On the other hand, by looking at the selfies from the past, we could see the change in our growth from the past to now. Overall, in my perspectives, I think selfies are worthwhile. Taking a selfie acquires confidence and it provides satisfaction. Furthermore, I believe capturing the best moment of your appearance is valuable and memorable.
