In my piece, “It’s Raining Pink and Purple,” I try to take what’s hidden beneath the earth and make it visible. I was inspired by the documentary, “The Secret Language of Plants,” which describes what happens beneath the soil, and explains how plants are able to communicate through their roots. There are connections between plants that take place underground that are vital to a plant’s survival. This is an even deeper reminder to me of how powerful a seed is.
