In the reading, I found it interesting that more people preferred real-world objects in artistic representations because real-world objects impose less cognitive overhead and make representations more accessible and more enjoyable. As opposed to non-representational styles, which require more exposure to and practice with subtle inferential constructions that people aren’t prepared for.
