Chindogu is the japanese art of creating humorous yet useless gadgets. Chindogu gadgets are created to solve an everyday problem, however, they must never be used. If a chindogu is used for the purpose it was created for, it is no longer is considered a chindogu; this is one of 10 rules that must be applied to these gadgets to be considered a chindogu.

Culturing jamming and subvertising is a tactic used to “subvert media culture”, most often, corporate advertisements are the victims of culture jamming. It is taking a satirical stand on current media and culture, and creating a parody that conveys and reveals a message corporations do not want the public to notice. Culture jamming was first started in the 1980’s by a group called the “Ad-busters. The “Ad-busters” are one of the main reasons culture jamming became so popular.
