Textle Swatches 1 & 2

In the swatches I have completed so far, I have focused on emulating the organic structure and flow of a jellyfishes form in the way that I weave. The weaving pattern of the swatches are not perfectly straight lines, they curve and bend, one material flowing into the next, creating an illusion of movement within the piece. The bodies of Jellyfish are curved and flexible, constantly undulating with the flow of the water. I also included many tendrils attached to the  swatches, they imitate the numerous different types of tentacles on jellyfish, each with varying lengths, colors, and textures. In future swatches I will be focusing more on emulating  the movement of ‘tentacles” in the swatches, experiment with more texture in the “body”,  as well as explore the possibility of luminescence.
