My Textile Design
My design is to put a Chinese letter, which stands for ‘dream’ on the clothing. The method that I have used is to print out the letter oppositely on an iron on paper. Then, Cut it out and iron it on the clothing, after I started sewing red strings on the letter and cut the strings in different lengths.
My Design
I chose the Chinese letter ‘dream’ because we all have dreams and we are all pursuing it. The different lengths of red strings hanging out bring movement and flow to the textile. Also, this represents my culture as well, by using Chinese and red, which is a main/luck color in China.
