#1 George Brecht

Edition F Conz.

George Brecht belonged to a group of playful, conceptual artists that got popular in the 1960s. As an expressionist his style is very abstract, which makes his work so interesting to explore, understand and see the beauty of human irony. The way he plays with words, humor, irony and issues faced by humanity makes his work so special for me. Like Charles Schulz I feel he had the eye and feeling when to express his voice in a simple but striking way. I guess its the simplicity of his work why I like it so much. Its honest, its true, its reality.

Goliga is a art group that does art books, photography, and performances. Their style is very graphic and Japanese based, which is expressed in black and white colors and mediums. The blurry and disoriented dark photographs are very interesting to observe and explore. I like how they play with black and white shadows, the way they make harmony seem boring and mystery be attractive is new, fresh and different. Same as with Brecht the artist group are very playful with hiding their messages, which grans the attention of the viewer more easily.

#3 Wacky Wacko

Wacky Wacko is a group of designers that do very creative street art wear and prints. (Their designers are Wacky Wacko + Peggy Noland + PAOM Booth). Apparently, I got to know one of the designers  (Peggy Noland) at my National Portfolio day visit in Boston. This group of designers are a crazy and weird bunch of creative individuals who see the world through artsy eyes. I love how they play with humor, color, prints of everyday objects and issues. It seems like Jazz is how they do art. Randomly, crazy and playful. I feel very connected to this kind of art style and I love the natural and organic style of their street wear.
